Alexa Stats on kintespace.com and Related Webs

So my vast experience with television demands that I regard Alexa data as Nielsen data. This may not be correct as the following quote from “About the Alexa Traffic Rankings” suggests:

The traffic data are based on the set of Alexa users, which may not be a representative sample of the global Internet population.

The “Alexa users” use a toolbar application that would be equivalent of the Nielson device attached to the TV set. As of 2002, Alexa tracked about 11.2 million unique Webs. There known and unknown biases to seriously consider but with that aside let’s make a few certain statements about Alexa data with respect to kintespace.com:* www.libradio.com in ranked in the top half million of Alexa webs. This places LIB Radio in the stratosphere with respect to kintespace.com! These numbers make us even more privileged to host LIB Radio content, our samplers, including “LIBRadio Sampler: Three Sons of Africa” and “LIBRadio Sampler: Divine Conversations.”

Traffic Rankings of 100,000+ should be regarded as not reliable because the amount of data we receive is not statistically significant. Conversely, the more traffic a site receives (the closer it gets to the number 1 position), the more reliable its Traffic Ranking becomes.

For those of “us” who enjoy life in the Alexa 100,000 club, “Alexa improved” by Joe Walker should be of interest.
