Teresa Njoku: Nonsense Women

They say we have no yesterday Yet we made the love pact to people the earth
They say we have no war story to tell Except wars our men have won Yet we rear the men who plant the milestones of time
They say we do not have sense And our words lack depth Yet we mold the pots of wisdom which bear the springs of life
They say we are taken to bridal homes at night And refuse to see spots of abominations Yet we see days and nights In the womb of time We have heard the whispers of the spirit Heard the footfalls of ants We have split the last blood from which braves buy their name and remain in the minds and hearts of men We now await the never-ending light to lead us home.
Words

Words fail me often When I want to speak Yet I need you words to purge me give me relief with giving feelings form
Words disappear fly like my deeds when I need them the most Yet when I use words words gain size become wide no matter how tiny in size and shape
I see and hear words daily Yet I need you word in this choking dryness to give me the weapons so dependable to master the inner me and give it form in words.
